Jodie Comer, Aron Taylor-Johnson Joins, and Ralph Fiennes Joins ’28 Years Later’
The upcoming zombie sequel of 28 Years Later added Jodie Comer, Aron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes to the cast list. It is the continuation of the film 28 Days Later, which was released in 2002. Danny Boyle will be back in the seat of director, and he reunite with Alex Garland to write the script.
The plot regarding 28 Years Later is unclear. The original movie told the story of Jim, played by Cillian Murphy, a bicycle courier who went into a coma due to an accident. At the time, he was in a coma, a contagious virus spread in the city and turned people into Zombies. Jim woke from a coma after 28 days when the outbreaks happened, and he must learn survival skills to escape from the zombies.
Boyle and Garland also produce 28 Years Later along with Bernard Bellew and Andrew Macdonald. Murphy also returns to the film not as a star but as an executive producer.
A trilogy is already planned, and it will be reported that the shooting will start after the wrap of the first one. Nia DaCosta, who directed the film Candyman, will direct the sequel to 28 Years Later.
The character details that are going to portray the talented actors Comer, Taylor-Johnson, and Fiennes are currently under wrap. Comer is famous in the BBC series Killing Eve, in which she played the character of Villanelle, a sociopathic assassin. She won a Primetime Emmy Award and a British Academy Television Award for that role.
She also acted in the action comedy film Free Guy with Ryan Reynold and the period drama The Last Duel, co-starred with Adam Driver. She recently appeared in the films The Bikeriders and The End We Start From.
Taylor-Johnson is best known for his title character in Kick-Ass. He appeared in the character of Pietro Maximoff in the MCU film Avengers: Age of Ultron. He played major roles in large films, including Godzilla, Anna Karenina, Savages, and Bullet Train. He won Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film Nocturnal Animals.
The actor is set to return to his superhero role in the upcoming film Kraven the Hunter, which is scheduled to release on August 30, 2024. He is also part of the forthcoming gothic horror Nosferatu, directed by Robert Eggers, and the film is set to release in December 2024.
Ralph Fiennes is one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, and he was nominated for the Golden Globe and Academy Awards for his role in the film Schindler’s List. His role as the villainous dark wizard in the Harry Potter series got a lot of attention from the viewers. In 2022, he starred in the comedy horror movie The Menu. Fiennes is currently starring in the play Macbeth in Washington DC and finishes his run on May 5.
