The Fantastic Four Added Natasha Lyonne to the Cast List

Natasha Lyonne joins the cast of the upcoming Marvel movie The Fantastic Four. As per the reports, it is unclear which character in the comic book she will going to portray.

She will be among the previously announced talented actors, including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebos Moss-Bachrach. It has already been announced that Julia Garner will play the role of the Silver Surfer. Paul Walter-Hauser and John Malkovich also joined the cast with undisclosed roles.

The film will be directed by Matt Shakman, who also directed the Marvel series WandaVision. He directed the 2014 film Cut Bank and the episodes of The Great, Fargo, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Game of Thrones. The Fantastic Four was first set to helm by Jon Watt, who is the director of the MCU’s Spider-Man movies. But later, he left the project and took a break from superhero films.

The script was written by Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Filming is expected to start in late July in London and will be released on July 25, 2024.

The Fantastic Four is a superhero team published in Marvel Comics, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1961. They gained superpowers during a scientific mission by exposing cosmic rays in outer space. They became the most beloved superhero team in Marvel, which includes Mister Fantastic(Reed Richards), The Invisible Woman(Sue Storm), The Thing(Ben Grimm), and The Human Torch(Johny Storm).

The Fantastic Four appeared in several movies. Fox released the first big-screen Fantastic Four in 2005 and its sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer, in 2007. After Disney purchased the rights from Fox, the new film will integrate the Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time.

The plot details regarding the upcoming events are scarce, but Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, revealed that the reboot was not based on the original story.
