Venom: The Last Dance Trailer: Tom Hardy Returns With Monstrous Power

Sony Pictures dropped the first trailer for Venom: The Last Dance, and Tom Hardy is all set to return to his anti-hero character. It is the final movie in the trilogy.

Hardy played the character of journalist Eddie Brock, who merges with an alien symbiote, known together as Venom. The trailer starts with Eddie being surrounded by the goons, and together Eddie and Venom easily defeat them with their power. But they are hunted by government agents, and on top of that, they need to face a symbiote alien from Venom’s home planet.

The trailer shows plenty of symbiote action, including one scene showing Eddie’s ride with a venom-ized horse. The conflict between Eddie and Venom’s world led them to decide on a last dance.

The movie’s cast members include Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Peggy Lu, Rhys Ifans, Stephen Graham, and Alanna Ubach. Kelly Marcel, who penned the screenplay for the first two Venom movies, writes and directs it. It was produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel.

Venom 3 was confirmed in 2022 after the success of the previous movies. The filming started in June 2023, but due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, it was halted for the next month and resumed in November, after the end of the strike.

Hardy announced the shooting began again by posting a black-and-white photo of himself sitting along with director Kelly Marcel and stunt double Jacob Tomuri. He wrote in the caption, “V3N0M 3 The last dance — thankfully we are back to shooting,”

Earlier this year, actress Juno Temple, who played the role of Dr. Payne in Venom 3, shared about her experience in the film. She said, “We’re coming close to an end at the moment. It’s been a wild, wonderful ride.”

She further continued, “I can’t wait for it to get out into the world. I think it’s going to be a good one.”

The first film in the trilogy, titled Venom, was released in 2018 and was directed by Ruben Fleischer. The film became a massive success despite its negative critics, and Hardy’s performance got positive feedback. It set several box office records and collected $856 million worldwide. Following its success, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, a sequel, collected $506.9 million at the box office upon its release in 2021.

Venom 3 is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 25, 2024.
