‘Felicity’ Actor Erich Anderson Dies at 67

Erich Anderson, who is famous for his role in Felicity, has died at the age of 67. He died on Saturday after battling with cancer. Anderson’s wife, Saxon Trainor, confirmed his death on Instagram.

She posted a photo of Anderson and wrote, He died Saturday morning “after a brutal struggle with cancer,” and continued, “He had a long successful career as an actor.”

She also noted in the post, “He was a smart and funny guy, a fantastic cook; he wrote three great novels which you can find on Amazon.” and concluded, “I’ll miss him but his ordeal is over.

Many of Anderson’s friends and fans expressed their condolences to the actor through Saxon’s post. Truth to be Told actor Brad Schmidt commented, “Thinking about you during this time Saxon.” The actress Emily Hampshire wrote, “Sending you all the love and healing vibes during this time.”

After the news of his death, Anderson’s Felicity co-star Eva Gordon, who played the character of his wife, Barbara Hunter, in the series, shared a tribute on her social media account. She posted a photo of them in the drama and wrote, “My beautiful friend, Erich Anderson, has said goodbye.”

She added, “He was a magnificent part of the world.” She also remembered their time together on the set and concluded her words by stating, “My friend, I hope I see you again in dreams and other dimensions. Fly high, my friend.”

Anderson was born in 1957 in Sagamahara, Japan. He graduated from Hilltop High School in California and got a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California.

He began his acting career in the 80s’ when he starred in the 1984 horror film Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, which became a breakout role in his acting career. In that movie, he played the character of Rob Dier, who was trying to avenge the death of his sister and got killed in the basement.

In Felicity, he acted as Dr. Edward Porter, father of Felicity Porter (Keri Russell), and the show ran for four seasons from 1999 to 2002. He starred in many films and TV shows throughout his career, including Unfaithful, Patty Hearts, The Glass Shield, Welcome 18, The Glass Shield, and Bat 21.

He also appeared in recurring roles in several shows, including Bay City, NYPD, and Thirtysomething.

In addition to acting, Anderson also worked as an author. His first book was published in 2012, titled Hallowed Be Thy Name. His other books are Thy Kindom Come and Rabbit, which were published in 2014 and 2022, respectively.
