Daniel Radcliffe Offers Some Advice For the Creative Team of Harry Potter Reboot
Daniel Radcliffe shares some advice for the upcoming Harry Potter show’s creative team. The actor recently won his first Tony Award for his character in Merrily We Roll Along. While addressing the media he said that he was not sure what advice to tell the actors who cast in the series. But he further added he had some words for the producers.
He said, “I’ve got advice for everyone else. Just like, let them be kids still. I can’t imagine what it would have been like to do that in the age of social media. We were kind of a little bit before that.”
He shared his hope to talk to the team of the Harry Potter reboot when HBO announced the cast members. He was not sure whether it would happen, but he wished to meet the person who was going to play his part.
He also expressed his excitement about waiting for the last book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He said, “The last one, I mean, it’ll be a while before they get to that, I assume, but that was always one of my favorite of the books and of the films.”
Warner Bros. Discovery officially announced the decision to produce a Harry Potter series based on J.K. Rowling’s novels in April 2023. In a press release, Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max, Casey Bloys, said, “We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way. Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World.”
He also added, “In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years.”
J.K. Rowling serves as the series’ executive producer. Casey Bloys said in a statement, “J.K. is an executive producer, and her insights will be helpful.”
Previously, the writers Martha Hillier, Tom Moran, Kathleen Jordan, Francesca Gardiner, and Michael Lesslie were mentioned for developing the script for the TV adaptation. Later the network aimed at Jordan, Moran, and Francesca Gardiner, but nothing has been finalised yet.
Early on, it was reported that each season would focus on each book in the Harry Potter series, which has seven books in total. But Bloys stated that the reboot series will run “10 consecutive years,” so fans can enjoy 10 seasons, that will delve deeper than the Harry Potter movie series.
The upcoming Harry Potter series will be expected to premiere in 2026.
