Money Heist’s spin-off series Berlin made a special place on Netflix. When the renewal news of the series came, the fans were even more excited. Now, everyone is eager to know when it will return to the screen.

Berlin is a Spanish series created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, a prequel to Money Heist, which focusing the life of Andrés de Fonollosa, known as Berlin. It focuses on the events before the original series. Pedro Alonso returns to reprise the titular character in the show.

The first season premiered on December 29, 2023. It ranked on Netflix’s Global Top 10 chart for seven weeks and became the ninth most-watched non-English language series. The series received a 7.0 rating on IMDb.

Berlin Season 2 Release Date

We know that Berlin Season 2 is happening, and now everyone is curious to know the release date of the upcoming season. Unfortunately, we don’t have a release date yet. There is going to be a big gap between the two seasons, as it is reported that the production will start in 2025.

The development of Money Heist’s spin-off series Berlin was announced in 2021. It debuted on December 29, 2023, and the second season was confirmed in February 2024. 

The filming process for the upcoming season will take a few months to complete. If production starts in early 2025, it will probably arrive in late 2025 or early 2026; mostly, we can expect it as a Christmas release. We will add it here when the official release date of Berlin season 2 is announced.

Berlin Season 2 Plot Synopsis – Spoilers Ahead

The series takes place before the events of Money Heist. Berlin and his gang, including Keila, Cameron, Bruce, Damián, and Roi, gather in Paris and plan to rob 44 million euros worth of Jewels in an auction, belongs the royal from across Europe. Things will get complicated when Berlin falls in love with the wife of the victim.

At the end of the series, the heist becomes successful, and they escape with all the jewelry, Berlin frames Camile’s husband as the victim. Roi and Cameron leave one necklace in the stolen car, and that leads to their near arrest, but they manage to escape.

Bruce and Keila escape in the Wilds, but Keila gets a snake bite and nearly meets death. Camille finds out that Berlin is responsible for the robbery. But she didn’t inform the police, instead, she blackmails him for the money. 

As considering the plot of the second season, the network didn’t reveal any hits. But it is expected to revolve around another heist. Berlin’s relationship with Camille ends, so it is possible that the disruption between them will not continue in season 2, also Damian faces some relationship problems, which might create some issues in the gang.

The confirmation regarding the cast list of Berlin season 2 is yet to be announced. But we can surely see Pedro Alonso will reprise his role as Andrés de Fonollosa/Berlin. The other main cast, including Tristán Ulloa, Begoña Vargas, Joel Sánchez, Michelle Jenner, Julio Peña Fernández, and Maria Isabel “Masi” Rodríguez, also return in season 2.

The one actor whose return is uncertain is Samantha Siqueiros as Camille. Her storyline seemingly ended in the first season, and the final episode shows her riding off into the sunset. However, there is a possibility that she could return.

The series was directed by David Barrocal, Geoffrey Cowper, and Albert Pintó. Pina, Lobato, and Pintó served as the show’s executive producers along with Cristina López Ferraz. 

Frank Montasell and Lucas Peire composed the music series, and they were the composers of Berlin and Nowhere. David Acereto, Migue Amoedo, Sergi Bartrolí, and Iñigo Iglesias are the cinematographers, and the editors include Miguel Burgos, Luimi Glez Bedmar, Carlos Egea, and Pablo Zumárraga. Vancouver Media served as the production company of the series.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a trailer for Berlin season 2, as the series has not even started production. It is already stated that the filming will start in 2025, so the series’ arrival will take a long time to wait. We will probably get the footage by the end of 2025.
