Turn of the Tide Season 2 Plot Synopsis – Spoilers Ahead
The series takes place in Rabo de Peixe, an Azorean village. Our protagonist is Eduardo, a fisherman who dreams of moving to the US. His friend’s circle includes Silvia, Rafael, and Carlinhos. Eduardo has a love interest for Silvia, who is the daughter of the drug dealer Arruda, and she is in a relationship with Rafael, who is a professional footballer.
One day, a ship that carries cocaine owned by an Italian drug lord sinks into the ocean due to a storm, and some of the packets are washed ashore in the village. Eduardo went to the sea and found more cocaine and convinced his friends to make more money by selling it.
They start to sell the drug without letting Arruda know, as he takes part of the profit. Detective Frias was sent to the Azores to find out about the cocaine and the custodians, as the drug lord Monti is desperate to retrieve his drug. Arruda kills Rafael after getting the information about the place where the cocaine is secretly kept. At the end of the series, Eudardo stabs Arruda.
Several loose ends in the first season develop to help the plotline of season 2. Monti’s search for his drugs and his threat towards Eduardo and his friends will be explored in the second season. Also, Silvia revealed she is pregnant, so the upcoming season will add more layers to the character.
