Obliterated Season 2 Release Date

Unfortunately, Netflix chose not to continue the series after the first season. The streaming platform officially canceled the second season despite grabbing a good viewership.

The first season premiered in November 2023, and season 2 was canceled two months after its debut. However, Netflix didn’t reveal the reason for the cancellation of Obliterated Season 2. The streaming giant considers multiple factors before renewing a series, such as viewership, rating, and production cost. Likely, the show may not meet the standards.

On the series premiere, the show’s creators, Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, expressed their enthusiasm about the second season.

Hurwitz said at that time, “If there’s a demand for it, we’re certainly going to be looking for that next party city where our team could get into mischief and have another adventure.”

Currently, the series’s second season status remains canceled. If the demand for the second season is high, Netflix will probably rethink its decision. We hope we will soon get a positive update about Obliterated season 2. Keep waiting!

Obliterated Season 2 Plot Synopsis – Spoilers Ahead

The story follows an elite special operations team on a mission to defuse a bomb that was going to blow up Las Vegas. The team’s leader was Ava Winters, and the others included Maya Choi, Chad McKnight, Angela Gomez, Paul Young, Trunk, and Hagerty.

They entered the pool party by hiding their identity to find Ivan Koslov, a Russian arms dealer, who was the mastermind behind the explosion plan. They tracked down Ivan and succeeded in deactivating the bomb.

After the success of their mission, when the team partied, they caught a call from Langdon, who informed them that the bomb they deactivated was fake and the real was hidden somewhere in the city. The team embarked on a journey in their drunken state to find out the bomb.

At the finale of the series, the team fought with Lena, who was the sister of Ivan, and they took revenge by planning to blow up Las Vegas because an air attack from America killed their father. Ava and the team finally tracked down the nuclear bomb hidden in a slot machine at the Plaza Hotel.

In the second season, we could see more about the growing relationship between Ava and Chad, and the team will have a new mission to resolve.  The creators previously hinted that they plan to bring the audience to another place in the world.
