After her mission, she went to her boyfriend, Andi Wolf, who was superior to her. She revealed to him that she was pregnant with his child and was planning to retire. However, she was accused and framed for the murder, and the Ministry of State Security did not attempt to save her by stating that there was no official record confirming she was an unofficial agent.

Kleo’s grandfather, Otto Straub, also gave testimony against her, and she got a sentence of life imprisonment. There, she fought with inmates, which led her to a miscarriage and permanent infertility. After the Fall of the Berlin Wall, she was freed from prison, and she decided to take revenge against those who were responsible for her sufferings.

Kleo helped Ramona deliver the baby, and in return, Ramona told her the location of the red suitcase. At last, they discovered that the documents in the suitcase were an agreement between the GDR and the United States, as the latter was financing the former to keep the status quo in the region.

Margot Hornecker, who assigned Ramona to get the suitcase, made an offer to Kleo in exchange for the suitcase about the information about her mother. Kleo opted to find her mother despite Sven’s disagreement, and he informed Min Sun of the news. She stole the red suitcase from Kleo and exchanged it for money with a US representative. Margot got a suitcase filled with toilet paper. 

In the second season, searching for the red suitcase continues, as Kleo is determined to find out about it. Sven is ready to do anything to keep Kleo’s eye out on him and is prepared to collaborate with her again.
