Marvel’s Hawkeye ended a couple of years before. Since then, viewers have been speculating about its return. But nothing has been confirmed yet, as the network billed it as a limited series.

The action-adventure series was created by Jonathan Igla based on the Marvel Comics characters Clint Barton and Kate Bicchop. The series premiered on Disney+ in November 2021. Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld played the lead characters in the show, which follows after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Hawkeye Season 2 Release Date

Hawkeye Season 2 Plot Synopsis – Spoilers Ahead

The series took place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, as it is based on the Marvel Comics superhero character Hawkeye. Kate Bishop wish to become like Clint Barton after she witnessed Barton’s battle with Chitauri during the Battle of New York in 2012. 

Back in the present, Barton was spending Christmas time with his family in New York. But after meeting archer Kate Bishop, they got involved in a murder mystery. They decided to work together when Barton’s past threatened him.

Clint and Kate decided to bring down Kate’s mother, Eleanor, who is involved with Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. In the finale of the series, we learn that Eleanor killed Armand. On the day of Christmas Eve Kate had a conversation with Eleanor and came to know that her father owed money to Fisk, which led Elesnor to a partnership with him. In the end, Eleanor gets arrested for murdering Armand, and Kate defeats Fisk, as she incapacitates him using Barton’s trick arrows.

The second season will focus more on Kate Bishop’s journey as the leading role.

The series’ return is still a mystery. However, if there is a second season, Jeremy Renner’s comeback is doubtful. He played Clint Barton in the MCU projects for over a decade. 

The actor is on the road to recovery from the serious injuries that happened after he was hit by a snowplow last year. However, while in a conversation during the Phoenix Fan Fusion convention he expressed his return as Clint by stating “If Marvel wants me back, I’ll do it in a heartbeat.”

While speaking to CinePOP, the series executive producer Trinh Tran also told the possibility of Renner’s involvement in the MCU’s upcoming projects. He said, “We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but it’s amazing to work with Jeremy.”

He also added, “He loves his character, he’s the only person who really knows who Clint Barton is. I think there are possibilities. We’ll see.”

In season 2, Hailee Steinfeld will surely reprise her character as Kate Bishop, as Clint Barton and Kate formed a special bond in the finale of the first season.
