As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the release date of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 2. The show was green-lit in January 2022, and filming started in July. It premiered on Apple TV+ on November 17, 2023. 

The series received a renewal update for the second season in April, around three months after the finale of season 1. At the time of renewal, the head of international development for Apple TV+, Morgan Wandell, stated, “We couldn’t be more excited for viewers to not only have the chance to experience even more thrills in season two, but to embark on epic, new journeys in the franchise, as we expand Legendary’s Monsterverse.”

The filming for the second season started in July, and it was confirmed by Anna Sawai and Joe Tippett by sharing behind-the-scenes pictures of season 2. So, the second season will probably arrive some time in late 2025.

The series takes place after the events of Godzilla (2014) and follows  Cate, who travels to Tokyo to find out more about her father, Hiroshi. There she discovers her father had a second wife and son named Kentaro, and her father was associated with a secretive organization called Monarch, which has a connection with the monsters fr om the Hollow Earth.

They investigate their father’s whereabouts with the help of Kentaro’s ex-girlfriend May and former Monarch member, Lee Shaw. in the finale of the first season, Cate and Kentaro are reunited with their father Hiroshi, and their grandmother Keiko, who is not because she resides in the Hollow Earth.

The plot details of the second season have yet to be revealed. It may explore the Monarch’s earlier timeline with the encounter of Titans. It will also focus on Kong.
