No release date has been announce for Sherwood season 2. The show debuted on BBC One in June 2022. It has been renewed for the second season on June 28, 2022, a few minutes after the finale episode aired. 

In the renewal announcement, the creator, James Graham, expressed his gratitude by saying, “I’ve been so deeply moved by the response to Sherwood,” and continued, “These stories come from my home, and I want to specifically express gratitude to my community for whom I know these subjects can be difficult, but – I hope – important ones to explore.”

Sherwood Season 2 Plot Synopsis – Spoilers Ahead

The series was set in a Nottinghamshire mining village and started with DCI Ian St Clair investigating the death of Gary Jackson, a former trade unionist. The show uncovers the already fractured community with two shocking murders, Gary Jackson and Keith Frogson, and leads to the largest manhunt in British history that connected to the 1980s miners’ strike.

The second season will also explore the themes of fractured communities and focus on two new families who were intertwined with old rivalries and revenge.
