Early Life
Pirro was born on June 2, 1951 in Elmira, New York. Her father, Nasser Ferris, was a mobile home salesman, and her mother, Esther Awad Ferris, was a department store model. At the age of six, Pirro dreamed of becoming an attorney.
She completed her graduation at Notre Dame High School in Elmira. While in high school, she interned in the Chemung County District Attorney’s office. Attorney’suated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University at Buffalo. In 1975, she obtained her J.D. degree at Albany Law School.
Professional Life
Pirro started her career as an Assistant District Attorney of Westchester County in 1975 and was appointed by District Attorney Carl Vergari. At first, she began her job by handling minor cases and writing appeals. 1977, per Pirro’s request, VePirro applied for a federal grant for the District Attorney’s Office’s special bureaus for domestic violence, and his office received one of the grants. In 1978, he appointed Pirro as the first chief of the new Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Bureau.
In 1990, Pirro left her job in the District Attorney’s office aAttorney’scted as a judge of the Westchester County Court and became the first woman judge there. She was elected Westchester County District Attorney in 1993 and became the first woman in that position. She was reelected again in 1997 and 2001. In 1986, she was announced as Andrew O’Rourke’s running O’Rourke’sstchester County Executive in the New York Lieutenant race, but two days later, she withdrew her name.
In 2005, Pirro announced during the 2006 U.S. Senate election that she would seek the Republican nomination against Hillary Clinton. After four months, she dropped out of the Senate race, and her campaign incurred a $600,000 debt to vendors. In 2006, she became the Republican candidate for Attorney General of New York, but she lost the general election to the Democratic nominee, Andrew Cuomo.
Pirro appeared as an analyst on several shows, including Today, Larry King Live, The Joy Behar Show, and Gerald at Large. She was a frequent guest on the late-night satire show Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld on Fox. She is also part of the HBO six-part serial The Jinx.

Jeanine Pirro married Albert Pirro in 1975, and they shared two children. They separated in 2007, and their divorce was finalized in 2013. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2012, which was revealed through her book Liars, Leakers, and Liberals: The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy, published in 2018.
