Detroit, MI – Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Jade Mathers, has some big news. On the latest episode of her “Just a Little Shady” podcast, the 28-year-old influencer and her husband, Evan McClintock, announced they’re having a baby boy.
In an exciting moment captured on the show, the couple popped a balloon filled with blue confetti, revealing the sex of their little one. “It’s a boy!” they exclaimed, beaming with joy.
Hailie Jade didn’t hold back her enthusiasm, sharing, “We’re so excited, too. When we found out, Evan said, ‘They’re going to hunt with me. They’re going to go golfing with me. I’ve got a little buddy.'” She then quipped, “I was like, ‘Okay, well, they’re still going to Target with me.'”
For his part, McClintock was happy to have a child, regardless of gender. “Whether it was a girl or a boy,” he said, “I would have made them do it. Or hoped they would want to do to it at least.”
The happy news comes just weeks after Hailie Jade announced her pregnancy in a heartwarming way. In Eminem’s recent music video for “Temporary,” the soon-to-be mom surprised the 51-year-old rapper by handing him a Detroit Lions jersey emblazoned with the word “Grandpa” on the back, along with an ultrasound photo.
Eminem’s reaction, captured on camera, was priceless. His jaw dropped, and his eyes widened as he tore at the exciting revelation.
Hailie Jade and McClintock, who met at Michigan State University and have been dating since 2016, tied the knot in a Michigan wedding in May. And it turns out the bride was already pregnant on her big day.
“I was like, ‘Brittany was taking one for the team,'” Hailie Jade shared, referring to her best friend who “covered for” her by pretending to drink Hailie Jade’s alcoholic beverages throughout the night.
Now, as the couple eagerly awaits the arrival of their little boy, Eminem’s fans are excitedly buzzing. The rapper has long been vocal about his pride in his daughter, even dedicating songs to her on his latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).”
In the emotional track “Somebody Save Me,” Eminem sings about his fears for Hailie Jade’s well-being, given the challenges he faced with addiction and mental health issues. And in “Temporary,” he reflects on the bittersweet moments of watching his little girl grow up.
“I will say, like, watching the video back and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job growing up where I didn’t realize how bad things were,” Hailie Jade shared. “But now, as an adult, in hindsight, it’s so scary to think about.”
As Eminem prepares to don his “Grandpa” jersey, fans can’t wait to see the rapper dote on his first grandchild. And for Hailie Jade and Evan, this new chapter of their lives will be filled with joy and love.
