Retired pro wrestler Hulk Hogan made a crude spitting gesture towards the floor as he likened Vice President Kamala Harris to a scripted “bad actress” during former president Donald Trump’s crazed MAGA carnival at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Some media outlets speculated that Hogan, 71, was referencing the viral sensation turned podcaster Haliey Welch’s “Hawk Tuah” oral sex joke. (Welch said in July that she doesn’t support Trump: “It’s a no from me.”) During his illustrious wrestling career, Hogan also spitted on objects in the ring, such as a USSR flag, but this gesture might have been a mere flourish, unrelated to the “Hawk Tuah” meme. Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, is at least aware of Welch’s existence, as the two crossed paths backstage at an event in July.
Trump Headlines Madison Square Garden Rally After Vulgar, Racist Remarks from Allies
NEW YORK, Oct 27 (Reuters) Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump headlined a rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday that began with a series of vulgar and racist remarks by allies of the former president.
Trump, a New York celebrity for decades, hoped to use the event at the iconic venue known for Knicks basketball games and Billy Joel concerts to deliver his closing argument against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, even though the state last backed a Republican presidential candidate in 1984.
Trump spoke repeatedly about his plans to halt illegal immigration and deport migrants he described as “vicious and bloodthirsty criminals” if he wins the Nov. 5 election. “On day one, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history,” he said. “I will rescue every city and town that has fallen victim to invasion and conquering.”
Trump called Harris a “very low-IQ individual” and drew cheers from supporters for his tough-on-migrants rhetoric. A long list of opening speakers varied widely, from former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan to former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to Trump’s sons Eric and Don Jr.
Some used racist and misogynistic language in warming up a capacity crowd. Giuliani, a former personal lawyer to Trump, falsely claimed that Harris was “on the side of the terrorists” in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe used crass language in joking that Latinos “love making babies” and called the Caribbean U.S. territory of Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”
Hulk Hogan Riles Up ‘Trumpamaniacs’ at MSG Rally, Pins Harris on Crucial Topics
WWE legend Hulk Hogan appeared onstage at President Trump’s rally in New York City and addressed the “Trumpamaniacs” in attendance at Madison Square Garden.
Hogan criticized Vice President Harris for sounding as though she’s reading from a Hollywood script during her speeches. Hogan said Harris was responsible for the crisis at the U.S.–Mexico border and inflation and that she acted like “she’s the victim.”
“All of a sudden, she flips, she flops, she spins, she turns around, and she acts like she’s going to be the damn hero,” said Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea. “But we all know Trump is the only man who can fix this country today, and with him as our commander in chief, peace through strength will fix all of our problems in the Middle East.”
Hogan recalled his pro wrestling heyday when he would ask crowds across the United States, from Madison Square Garden to sold-out arenas in Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, and more, what they were going to do.
In New York on Sunday night, Hogan said he finally “got the answer.” “And the answer is: vote. He enthusiastically yelled, “Vote for Trump.” He asked the crowd what they were going to do about the border crisis, inflation, keeping America safe, and putting God in homes, countries, and schools. The crowd responded, “Vote… for Trump.”
Hogan added that he didn’t see any “stinkin’ Nazis” or “domestic terrorists” in the crowd. Hogan has been in Trump’s corner since he spoke at the Republican National Convention in July.
