Beyoncé Channels Pamela Anderson In “Bodyguard” Music Video That Urges People To Vote

I’m excited to share that Beyoncé has released a brand new music video that pays tribute to iconic Pamela Anderson while also encouraging everyone to get out and vote. Titled “Beywatch,” the video features Queen Bey channeling Anderson’s looks from the 1996 film “Barb Wire” and the beloved TV series “Baywatch.” Set to the track “Bodyguard” from Beyoncé’s recent country album “Cowboy Carter,” the visual features her firing a gun from the “Barb Wire” movie, while the word “vote” flashes on the screen.

Beyoncé also rocks her own take on Anderson’s famous red “Baywatch” bathing suit, but with the word “Beywatch” written across the front. Another shot has her wearing a version of the outfit Anderson donned at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, complete with a wide-brimmed fuzzy pink hat, white corset, and sequined leggings.

The video closes out with the text “HAPPY BEYLLOWEEN” and a final reminder to “VOTE.” This release comes just days after Beyoncé made her first campaign appearance alongside Vice President Kamala Harris in Houston, TX. During the event, she described Harris as “a woman who has been pushing for what this country really needs right now—uunity.”

Beyoncé said, “We are at the precipice of an incredible shift—the brink of history.” “I’m not here as a celebrity. I’m not here as a mother. I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother, deeply concerned about the world my children and all our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world without division—our past, present, and future all meet here.”

Beyoncé is using her powerful platform to encourage people to voice their opinions at the voting booth. And she’s doing it in the most Beyoncé way possible—by serving up some iconic visuals and pop culture references. Pamela Anderson herself even got in on the fun, commenting “LOVE” on one of Beyoncé’s Instagram posts and writing “Don’t call me Bey…” as a nod to her “Barb Wire” character.

This isn’t the first time Beyoncé has used her music to encourage civic engagement. Back in 2016, she performed at a rally for Hillary Clinton in Cleveland. And this year, her song “Freedom” has become the anthem for Vice President Harris’ campaign.

So while Beyoncé may not be running for office herself, it’s clear she’s using her unparalleled influence to inspire people to get out and vote. And with a Pamela Anderson-inspired music video as catchy as “Beywatch,” she’s sure to grab everyone’s attention.

Whether you’re a diehard Beyoncé fan or just someone who appreciates a clever pop culture homage, this new video is a must-watch. And remember—after you’ve enjoyed the show, don’t forget to cast your ballot!
