White attended Bishop Gorman High School and spent his senior year in Maine. In 1987, he completed his graduation from Hermon High School. He attended college two times but dropped out each time during his first semester. At that time, he tried various jobs, such as bouncer and bellhop.

Professional Career

White started practicing boxing when he was 17. He became friends with Peter Welch, a former Golden Gloves champion, and decided to enter the boxing business. He and Welch started a boxing gym in Boston. At first, White thought of becoming a professional boxer but dropped the idea after seeing a punch-drunk boxer. He then began working as a boxing coach.
