Brittany Cartwright, 35, is not holding back when it comes to her personal life amid her high-profile divorce from former co-star Jax Taylor, 45. In a shocking revelation on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast, Cartwright openly discussed a recent “fling” she had with one of Taylor’s friends—a move she says she doesn’t regret, despite the potential fallout.
“We did not have a ‘no dating in the friend group’ policy,” Cartwright told executive producer Alex Baskin. “We didn’t discuss it, as it seemed unnecessary.” First off, I didn’t think I was going to hook up with his friend; it wasn’t anything that I planned.” Cartwright continued by explaining that she had “always thought was so hot” the mystery man, later identified as 42-year-old Julian Sensley.
“I was just so mad at Jax.” I didn’t care if I hurt his feelings like that. Why should I care? He didn’t give a damn about how he hurt my feelings for years. He put mI am sorry that you are so upset about the identity of the individual who did so much to me. However, you neglected to show me any form of affection or attention for an extended period of time. years.”
The former “Vanderpump Rules” star, who shares a 3-year-old son with Taylor, also revealed that Sensley made the first move by sliding into her DMs and flirting with her. “I could tell this guy was flirting with me,” Cartwright said. “I was always flirting with him. He’s very much my type.”
This latest development comes just months after Cartwright and Taylor announced their separation in February, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split after five years of marriage.
Cartwright, who filed for divorce in August, has been open about the challenges in her relationship with Taylor, admitting that she felt he never truly changed, even after a stint in rehab earlier this year.
“I don’t feel like he changed at all in those 30 days,” Cartwright shared on the podcast. “And the reason, I mean, I’m sure it’ll be on the show as well, but, you know, a lot of rage texting and stuff was still going on the entire time that he was in rehab.”
Despite the tumultuous end to their marriage, Cartwright hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a reconciliation, telling Us Weekly, “There’s definitely a chance. But I won’t waste my time and get back into a toxic situation.”
The reality TV star, who has been focusing on her own self-care and transformation, underwent a non-invasive fat removal procedure in May to help boost her confidence after a challenging year.
“I am feeling great these days after getting AirSculpt,” Cartwright told DailyMail.com. Indeed, you could argue that I sought retribution. I wanted to look positive after everything I’ve been through this year. I want to look my very best. I wanted to get my sparkle back.”
As for Jax Taylor, he has also been open about the difficulty of the divorce, admitting on the “When Reality Hits” podcast that he was “in shock” when Cartwright decided to leave.
“Unfortunately, she’s had enough. And I don’t blame her at all,” Taylor said. “I mean, I can’t believe she’s been with me this long as it is. That we stayed, to be honest.” Despite the challenges, both Cartwright and Taylor seem committed to putting their son Cruz first as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.
“He’s no. 1, and we both agree on that,” Taylor told E! News. “It’s about knowing he has two loving parents who love him unconditionally, and he’s going to have the best life possible, whether we are together or not.”
