Jack White Headed Home for Pair of Masonic Temple Shows

Detroit native Jack White is returning to his hometown this spring for a highly anticipated two-night stand at the historic Masonic Temple Theatre. The rocker will take the stage at the iconic venue on April 12th and 13th as part of his global “No Name Tour,” supporting his latest Grammy-nominated album.

Tickets for the Masonic shows will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on November 22nd, with a presale for Third Man Records Vault subscribers starting a few days earlier on Friday. Fans can also register for the presale through White’s website.

The Masonic Theatre holds a special place in White’s heart—it’s where he surprised his audience last April by proposing to his now-wife, Olivia Jean, right on stage. That show also coincided with the release of his previous solo album, “Fear of the Dawn,” and the Detroit Tigers’ Opening Day, creating an electrifying atmosphere.

While the Tigers won’t be in town this time around (their home opener is on April 4th), there’s sure to be no shortage of excitement when White takes the stage at the Masonic once again. The two-night Detroit stop is part of a larger North American leg of the “No Name Tour” that will see White crisscross the continent from February through May.

White’s July release of “No Name” has garnered praise as one of his most introspective and personal works to date. The album earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album, further cementing White’s status as one of the most influential and acclaimed artists of the modern rock era.

The covert release of “No Name” was reminiscent of the past. Jack White—the rocker—surprise-dropped the vinyl LP at his Third Man Records stores in Detroit, Nashville, and London, with customers unknowingly receiving the album in their shopping bags. Early August saw the widespread release of the record on streaming platforms.

In the months since, White has treated fans to a series of intimate, pop-up shows around his hometown, including gigs at Detroit’s Saint Andrew’s Hall and Ann Arbor’s Blind Pig. These spontaneous performances have only whetted appetites for his upcoming Masonic dates, where he’s sure to deliver a career-spanning setlist for adoring Motor City fans.

Alongside the tour announcement, White also revealed plans to release a new B-side track, “You Got Me Searching,” on Friday. The song will be available as a 7-inch vinyl single and on digital streaming services.

Needless to say, 2023 has been a landmark year for the Detroit native, and it shows no signs of slowing down as he prepares to bring his electrifying live show back to the Masonic Theatre. Tickets are sure to go quickly, so fans would be wise to set their alarms for the November 22nd on-sale date.

Whether you’ve followed White’s genre-bending career since his early days with the White Stripes or are just discovering his unique artistry, you shouldn’t miss these Masonic shows. As the lights dim and the opening chords resound, it’s undeniable: Jack White is returning home.
