According to a release, “So Close to What” will explore “the journey of growing up when the road ahead feels infinite.” She launched the LP cycle with the single “It’s ok, I’m ok.” She’ll release her new single “2 Hands” tonight, just hours after announcing the album.

In March, McRae will kick off her Miss Possessive Tour with a headlining gig at Mexico City’s Pepsi Centre. The trek will span North America, South America, Europe, and the U.K., with a few festival spots along the way. Zara Larsson will open for McRae in the Americas, while Benee will join her for Europe and the U.K.

The 21-year-old released her debut album, I Used to Think I Could Fly, in 2022. She followed it with the even bigger Think Later, which she dropped in December 2023. Think Later spawned two massive hits for the Canadian pop star: “Greedy” and “Exes.”

“Making this album has been the most beautiful and exciting journey,” McRae wrote in an Instagram caption. “I cannot wait to finally share it with you!”

The Miss Possessive Tour will kick off on March 18 in Mexico City and then head to a string of major Latin American music festivals, including Lollapalooza in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. The tour will then cross the Atlantic for dates in Europe, with stops in Lisbon, Madrid, Dublin, London, Paris, and more.

After the European leg, the tour will return to North America, with McRae performing in several major Canadian cities like Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Toronto. The trek will then move down to the United States, with shows in cities like Chicago, Detroit, Boston, New York, and Los Angeles before wrapping up on September 26 in the City of Angels.
