I’m here to share the latest developments in the ongoing saga surrounding Kanye West, now legally known as Ye. The embattled musician faces a new lawsuit alleging a disturbing pattern of antisemitic tirades, sexual misconduct, and abusive behavior towards a former Yeezy employee.
Lawsuit Alleges Hostile Work Environment And Antisemitism
Murphy Aficionado, the plaintiff, asserts that Ye hired him as a project manager for Yeezy in October 2022. However, Aficionado claims Ye’s “proud bigotry and antisemitism” on a near-daily basis turned his dream job into a “living nightmare”.
According to the lawsuit, Ye would frequently make disparaging remarks about Jewish people, telling Aficionado, “The Jews are out to get me. They froze my bank account. The Jews have taken control of Kim Kardashian and my children. Ye also allegedly claimed that Kardashian had been “convinced” by her “Jewish masters.”
Aficionado alleges that Ye’s antisemitic tirades were a regular occurrence, with the rapper often ranting about how “the Jews” were trying to undermine him and control his finances. The lawsuit states that Ye’s “vitriol, hate, and antisemitism continue, as does his complete and utter disrespect for the women around him.”
Disturbing Allegations Of Sexual Misconduct
The lawsuit also makes a number of shocking allegations regarding Ye’s inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace. Aficionado claims that in late November 2022, Ye summoned him to a meeting at the Beverly Hills Waldorf Astoria hotel.
Upon arriving, Aficionado found his then-girlfriend, Bianca Censori, standing topless, her hands barely covering her bare breasts. Aficionado asserts that the sexual activity between Ye and Censori was “immediately obvious.”
Ye allegedly “commanded” Aficionado to come into the hotel room and sit down, despite the employee’s clear discomfort. The lawsuit states that Ye then “dashed” into the adjoining bedroom where Censori was, leaving the door slightly ajar so Aficionado could hear the “loud moaning and clapping” as Ye and Censori continued having sex.
Aficionado asserts that upon Ye’s return, he donned a t-shirt adorned with a swastika and confronted the employee with an aggressive question, “Don’t you like my shirt?” The lawsuit alleges that Ye also randomly showed Aficionado nude photos of his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, on his phone.
Unlawful Termination And Unpaid Wages
In addition to the hostile work environment and sexual misconduct allegations, the lawsuit also accuses Ye of unlawful termination and failure to pay wages. Despite receiving instructions to work up to 70 hours per week, Aficionado claims he never received his promised rate of $125 per hour.
The lawsuit states that in July 2023, a representative for Ye’s Donda Academy school claimed the institution “would no longer be in operation.” Aficionado claims that the company revoked his Yeezy assignments and no longer welcomed him at its offices, effectively terminating his employment.
Aficionado is suing Ye, Yeezy, and Donda Academy for a range of claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, labor code violations, and wrongful termination. His lawyers say they look forward to their client’s “day in court” to hold Ye accountable for his alleged misconduct.
A Pattern Of Controversy
This lawsuit is just the latest in a string of controversies surrounding Ye. In October 2022, the rapper faced widespread backlash for making a series of antisemitic remarks on social media, leading to the termination of his lucrative partnerships with brands like Adidas and Gap.
Ye’s erratic behavior and offensive statements have continued to make headlines, seemingly damaging his once-formidable business empire. This new lawsuit from a former employee paints a troubling picture of the work environment Ye has allegedly fostered, filled with bigotry, sexual misconduct, and unlawful treatment of staff.
It’s unclear whether Ye will face any significant consequences for his actions as the legal battle progresses. But for now, it’s clear the fallout from his controversial antics shows no signs of slowing down.
