He started his career as a director and author in 2006 in the Tamil industry. He won many awards such as Behindwoods Gold Medal, 16th Chennai International Film Festivals, Ananda Vikatan Cinema Award, Film Critics Circle of India, Toulouse Indian Film Festival, and Galatta Debutant Award.
Mari Selvaraj was born on 7th March 1984, and he is 37 years old. When he entered the Tamil film industry, he wanted to become an actor, but after that, he decided to become a film director, and he worked very hard for it.
To become a successful film director, he worked as an assistant director with a film director Ram in various films such as Kattradhu Thamizh, which was released in 2007; Taramani, which was released in 2017; and Thanga Meenkal, which was released in 2013.
