Dark Matter Season 2 Plot Synopsis – Spoilers Ahead

The series follows Jason Dessen, who is a physics professor at the college. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Daniela, and son, Charlie. His life takes a drastic turn when he returns home after a party thrown by his friend, Ryan.

On his way back home, he is abducted by a masked man who injects him with something that makes him unconscious. When he awakes, he discovers that he is in an alternative world, where another version of him (Jason #02) is pursuing his career as a physicist and in love with Amanda.

Jason learns that Jason #2 is his abductor and orchestrates a journey to experience the life he leaves behind. Meanwhile, Jason #2 enters Jason’s house and settles a life with Daniele and Charlie. Jason is determined to return to his life, and with the help of Amanda, he embarks on a journey of encountering various parallel worlds and finally reunites with his family.

In the series finale, Jason, Danielle, and Charlie use the multiverse-accessing box together to escape another parallel world in which they can live peacefully.

The second season needs to answer many of the questions that the first season left behind. What happens to Jason and his family after they enter the box? Did they adjust their lives to a new universe?
