Creating a massive success in the first two seasons, the adult animated superhero series Invincible is heading for season 3, which will be even more significant than the last seasons.

Robert Kirkman created the series based on his own comic book series illustrated by Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. It premiered on Amazon Prime Video in March 2021. Steven Yeun voiced the lead character in the series, which follows Mark Grayson, who develops superpowers on his 17th birthday.

Invincible Season 3 Release Date

The official release date for Invincible Season 3 has not been announced yet. The show debuted in March 2021 and was renewed for the second and third seasons in April following the finale of season 1.

In May 2024, the actor Ross Marquand confirmed that the production of the third season is “nearly finished” and will be released in early 2025. 

While speaking at a panel at GalaxyCon Oklahoma City, Ross Marquand revealed that season 3 is almost completed by stating, “‘Invincible’ Season 3, we’re almost wrapped on that. That’s gonna be coming out probably…I don’t want to speak for…because Robert [Kirkman] would be like ‘Don’t tell people anything because we don’t know,’ but I have a feeling it’s probably gonna be early next year.”

Invincible Season 3 Plot Synopsis – Spoilers Ahead

The series follows Mark Grayson, a teenage boy who is the son of the powerful superhero Omni-Man. Mark wishes to become like her father, but he has no superpowers and worries that he will end up a normal human being like his mother, Debbie Grayson.

 

However, on Mark’s 17th birthday, he begins to develop some powers and trains under his father to become a superhero, The Invincible. Eventually, Mark learns that his father hides a dark secret, and he brutally kills his superhero team, Guardians of the Globe. Mark discovers that Omni-Man is part of the Viltrum Empire and came to Earth to expand their territories by finishing the superheroes.

The third season’s plot details have not been revealed yet. Kirkman stated about season 3, “I think that there’s so many pieces that have been put in place in season 2 that we’re going to build on in season 3, and so many different ways that we’re going to expand the show and push the show even further.”
