The series follows Jax Stewart, a Los Angeles law firm defense attorney. She has been facing a separation from her husband while dealing with her children. She was hired for a new case to defend Brayden Miller, who was accused of murdering his partner, Kaleesha Moore. In the finale of the series, it was revealed that Brayden killed Khaleesha after she refused to sign the NDA. The first season ended with Jax getting a call from her friend Shanielle, who told Jax that Jamarion was dead in the living room.

The second season will focus on Jax’s new case, as her best friend tells her that she killed her husband and claims it happened during self-defense. But Jax knows the prosecution will not think that way and try to prove their thoughts. To help her friend, Jax hires a defense attorney to lead the case, but things turn tense quickly. 

Season 2 will also focus on Jax’s attempts to save her marriage to Lewis, who wants her to focus more on their relationship.
