Superman & Lois Season 4 Release Date

The official release date for Super & Lois season 4 has been announced. It will arrive on the network on Thursday, October 17, 2024, with a special two-hour premiere. The CW announced the release schedule through TVLine on its fall 2024 schedule. 

The series debuted in 2021, followed by seasons 2 and 3 in 2022 and 2023 respectively. It was renewed for the fourth season in June 2023, a month after its third season’s premiere. Network president Brad Schwartz confirmed this in a statement through TVLine. 

He said, “We are thrilled to bring Superman & Lois back to The CW.” and continued, “We are grateful to our partners at Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions for their continued collaboration, and we cannot wait to get started on the new seasons.”

In November, it was confirmed that season 4 would be the series’ final season. Filming for the final season started in January 2024 and ended in April. 

Superman & Lois Season 4 Plot Synopsis – Spoilers Ahead

The series revolves around Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin), the world’s greatest superhero, and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch), a renowned journalist, adjusting their life as working parents of their teenage boys. While raising their sons, Jonathan and Jordan, they worried about whether their boys inherit Clark’s superpowers as they grew older.

When the Kent family returns to Smallville to handle their family business, they reacquaint themselves with Lana Lang and her husband, Kyle Cushing. Jordan and Jonathan also catch up with Lana and Kyle’s daughter, Sarah.

Considering the plot of the fourth season, we don’t have much information. The third season finale ended with a cliffhanger. Throughout the third season, we witnessed Lois fighting cancer, and a new threat arose for them as Lex Luthor, who had been free from prison after two decades.

Luthor was wrongly imprisoned for murder after Lois wrote an article about the murder investigation 17 years before. He threatened Lois to retire from journalism and warned revenge against Superman. 

Lex found Bizarro in Bruno Mannheim’s lab and realized that every time Lex tried to kill him, Bizarro became stronger. Lex tortured Bizarro until he transformed into a Doomsday.

After that, Deadline reported that Emmanuelle Chriqui, Inde Navarrette, Tayler Buck, Erik Valdez, Sofia Hasmik, and Wolé Parks were also cut from the main cast list. 

Later, the Be More Super podcast revealed that Walsh and Chriqui will reprise their role as Sam Lane and Lana Lang, respectively, in some episodes of season 4.

Erik Valdez confirmed his return in the new season as Kyle Cushing via his Instagram account in February.
