The series is set in 1348 when a Black Death plague broke out and caused the death of dozens of people in Florence. To escape from the plague a group of nobles and their servants headed to Villa Santa, which was situated in the country side. When they discover that the villa’s owner, Leonardo is dead, they fight to take control of the villa for survival.
At the end of the series, the mercenaries broke into Villa Santa to claim it by killing the guests. Filomena, Jacopo, Licisca, Misia, Sirisco, and Stratilia survived the attack. They came out of the Villa and found shelter in the forest. They found solace in there and shared laughs and stories.
Considering the plot of the second, if it continues the first season’s follow-ups, it will explore the remaining characters’ survival through the plague outbreak. If the second season opts for an anthology approach. It will come back with new characters and a new plague or timeline.
