Early Life
Faison was born to Shirley and Donald Faison on June 22, 1974. His mother was a talent agent, and his father was a building manager. They were members of the National Black Theatre in Harlem. They divorced in 1992. Faison’s younger brother, Olamide Faison, is a singer/musician.

Faison first acted in a commercial for Folgers coffee in 1989, when he was 15 years old. In that commercial, he played the character of a younger brother of a soldier who was returning from war. In 1992, he acted in a few episodes of the children’s series Sesame Street. The same year, he appeared in the ABC News extraordinary Prejudice: Answering Children’s Questions.
In 1994, Faison starred in a small role in Leon Ichaso’s film Sugar Hill. He received a notable character in the 1995 film Clueless, where he played Murray Duvall. He reprised that role in its ABC TV spin-off, which aired between 1996 and 2000. In 1996, he starred in the films New Jersey Drive and Waiting to Exhale.
