Early Life

Henry was born on July 20, 1971, in New York City. His father was a dairy manager, and his mother was a bookkeeper. He attended St. Joseph’s Grammar School, and when his family moved to Deer Park in Long Island, Henry resumed his education at St. John Baptist Diocesan High School in West Islip. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from Siena College, Loudonville, New York.

Professional Life

Henry started his career as an investigative reporter with Jack Anderson for five years. In 2003, he became the political analyst for the WMAL Morning News and The Chris Core Show, local radio shows on WMAL in Washington, D.C.

Henry covered Capital Hill for the newspaper Roll Call for eight years by writing its “Head on the Hill” column. He also became the editor of the monthly magazine Washingtonian. He then joined as a moderator of CNN’s Inside Politics, and eventually, he started covering the White House for CNN. He later became the network’s senior White House correspondent in 2008.

In June 2011, after his contract with CNN expired, Henry left and joined Fox News Channel as a Chief White House Correspondent. In 2012, Henry said he had no regrets about leaving CNN. He appeared as one of the hosts of Fox and Friends Weekend and the chief national correspondent. Lastly, he appeared as a co-host with Sandra Smith in the TV show America’s Newsroom. 

In 2016, following media reports of his extramarital affair with a Las Vegas cocktail hostess, Fox News suspended him for four months. During that time, he avoided the media to sort things out independently. In late August, he returned to Fox News but lost the post of White House correspondent and joined as chief national correspondent. He also lost the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign.

In June 2020, Henry was suspended by Fox News after he faced an allegation of sexual misconduct, and following the investigation, the network fired Henry in July. 

After his exit from Fox News, Henry joined as co-host of Real America’s Voce’s weekday morning show, American Sunrise. However, in 2023, Henry and his co-host, Karyn Turk, were abruptly removed from the show. Later, he was hired by Newsmax TV.

Personal Life

Henry tied the knot with Sherly Hung, CNN’s senior producer, in June 2010, and they share two children. He donated part of his liver to his sister in 2019 after she was diagnosed with liver failure.
