Early Life

After moving to Springfield Township, Cramer attended Springfield Township High School in Montogomery County and graduated in 1973. In his early time, he sold Coca-Cola and ice cream during Philadelphia Phillies games at Veteran Stadium in 1971.

During his time there, he was the president and editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, The Harvard Crimson.

Cramer earned a Juris Doctor degree from Harward Law School in 1984. While in law school, he started investing in the Stock Market, which helped him earn enough money to cover his tuition.

Professional Career

Cramer started working as a stockbroker at the New York investment bank Goldman Sachs in 1984. The following year, he was admitted to the New York State Bar but did not start his practice.

After working for about three years at Goldman Sachs, he left his position and started a hedge fund, Cramer & Co. (later known as Cramer, Berkowitz & Co.). In $5 million increments, he raised $450 million and received a 20% fee on the profits for the profits.

Cramer claimed that between 1988 and 2000, he faced negative returns only in 1988. He retired from the hedge fund in 2001, and after that, it was taken by Jeff Berkowitz, his former partner.
