Early Life

Good was born to Tyra Wardlow-Doyle and Leondis “Leon” Good in Los Angeles, California, on August 8, 1981. Her father was an LAPD police officer, and her mother was Good’s manager. She has three siblings and grew up in Canyon Country, California. Good started her acting career when she was four years old. She describes herself as super nerdy and super skinny.

Professional Career

In her early career, Good worked as an extra on TV shows, including M.D., Doogie Howser, and Amen. She then appeared in episodes of Gabriel’s Fire, On Our Own, Pacific Blue, The Gregory Hines Show, and Touched by an Angel.

When Good was 13, she acted in her first film, Friday, released in 1995. She gained attention in the 1997 film Eve’s Bayou, where she played the troubled teen Cisely Batiste. She earned two award nominations for her performance, including the NAACP Image Awards.

In 1997, Good starred as Ariana in the fourth season of The WB’s The Parent ‘Hood. The following year, she was cast as the main in the Nickelodeon sitcom Cousin Skeeter, where she played Nina Jones. The show ran for three seasons and ended in November 2002. During that time, she acted in the films The Secret Life of Girls, 3 Strikes, and House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute.

Good also became part of several music videos for artists, including Imajin, 50 Cent, Tyrese, and Isyss. She starred as Tamika in Disney Channel’s comedy series The Jersey in 1999.  Then she appeared in an episode of Moesha, The Steve Harvey Show, and The Division.

In 2003, Good played a significant role in Reggie Rock’s Biker Boyz and Gary Hardwick’s Deliver Us From Eva. The same year, she starred as Vanessa Scott in the ABC sitcom My Wife and Kids.

She appeared in the 2004 action comedy film D.E.B.S. as Max Brewer, and for her performance, she earned a Black Movie Awards nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. She also played minor roles in You Got Served and The Cookout.

Good acted alongside Taye Diggs and Jon Seda in the legal drama series Kevin Hill on UPN. Between 2005 and 2009, she went on to act in several movies, including Brick (2005), Venom (2005), Miles from Home (2006), Stomp the Yard (2007), One  Missed Call (2008), and The Unborn (2009). Good started dating producer and auth DeVon Franklin in 2011. They got engaged in April 2012 and married in June 2012. After nine years of marriage, the couple divorced in June 2022. In November 2024, she announced her engagement with actor Jonathan Majo24.
