Net Worth 2024

As of 2024, Elliot’s net worth is estimated at around $50 million. She earned most of her wealth through her career in the music industry, where her musical performances and album sales significantly boosted her wealth.

Early Life

Elliot was born on July 1, 1971, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the only child of Patricia and Ronnie Elliott. Her mother worked as a power company dispatcher, and her father was a former marine. Elliot was raised in an active church choir family, so singing was a regular part of her life. When she was four years old, she dreamed of becoming a performer.

Due to her father’s job, Elliot and her family moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina, where they lived in a manufactured home community. Later, they moved back to Virginia after her father returned from the Marines. Elliot faced many hardships in Virginia. She witnessed her mother suffering domestic abuse from her father.

At the age of eight, she faced sexual abuse from a cousin, and her father threatened her with a gun. When she was 14, Elliot and her mother left the home and found refuge at a family member’s home. They lived in the Hodges Ferry neighborhood of Portsmouth, and there, Elliot completed her graduation from Manor High School in 1990.

Professional Career

In 1988, Elliot formed Fayze, an all-women R&BB group with her friends. Her neighborhood friend Timothy Mosley became the producer of their demo tracks. In 1991, the group caught the attention of Jodeci member DeVante Swing. Later, Fayze signed a record deal with Elektra Records through DeVante’s Swing Mob after moving to New York City. Also, the group was renamed to Sista.

In 1994, Sistas debuted their album, 4 All the Sistas Around the World, jointly produced by Timbaland and DeVante. Later, Elliot and Timbaland left Swing Mob and worked together. They wrote and made Aaliyah’s second album, One in Million’s nine tracks. They worked for several artists, including Nicole Wray, Total, and Destiny’s Child.

In 1996, Elliot signed up with East West Records to create her imprint, The Goldmind Inc. The following year, she released her debut studio album, Supa Dupa Fly, which debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200. The album sold 1.2 million copies in the United States and was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 1998 Grammy Awards.

Elliot released her second studio album, Da Real World, in 1999. It debuted at number 10 on the US Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by RIAA. She released her third album, Miss E…So Addictive, in May 2001, and its first week, 250,000 copies were sold in the US.

Elliot’s fourth studio album, Under Construction, was released in 2002 and received Grammy Award nominations for Best Rap Album. Her other studio albums are This Is Not a Test (2003) and The Cookbook (2005).

Personal Life

Not many details about Elliot’s personal life are available, as she is interested in keeping them private. In June 2011, she revealed that her absence from the music industry was due to Graves’ disease, which was diagnosed after she met a car crash.
