Malick was born to Gigi Malick and Ken Malick on December 13, 1950, in Buffalo, New York. Her mother was a former model, and her father worked in the sales. In 1968, she attended Williamsville South High School, and after that, she enrolled at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware. She graduated from the university in 1972.
