‘13 Going on 30’s 20th Anniversary; The Stars Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer Reunite for Celebration
13 Going on 30 was released on April 23, 2004, and turned 20 years old. The film’s cast members, Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer, reunite to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the movie through Zoom conversation.
They shared the video chat to their Instagram accounts titled “13 Going on Boomers”. They mark the caption as “Twenty years. We are three Boomers braving Zoom – because we want to thank you”. They thanked every person who loved the movie.
Greer started the conversation with a warm welcome. She thanked everyone for watching and loving the movie. The trio discussed how their life has been changed after acting in the movie and fans’ reactions over the years. They also talked about certain scenes in the film, including the part where they all danced to the song of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
In their video chat, they talked about the intensity of fandom. Ruffalo stated that there were two kinds of people in the world: Hulk people and 13 Going on 30 People. Ruffalo has appeared as Hulk in several superhero movies.
They chit-chat about how much time has changed since they acted in the film. Garner said that twenty years ago, they were little; they had cell phones but could only text. Greer continued the conversation by saying everyone got their news from the same place, and Ruffalo completed it by stating the newspaper.
Greer expressed her surprise that after learning, Brie Larson, a famous actor who appeared in the movie as a teenager. Garner confirmed that “She was a six chick.”
They concluded the video by appreciating the fans. Ruffalo thanked everyone and said they had been this film’s best fans. Greer added, “Number one, Best fans ever.”
13 Going on 30 is a fantasy romantic comedy directed by Gary Winick. It follows the story of a girl, Jenna Rink, in 1987. On her 13th birthday, she makes a wish to get 30, and the next day, when she wakes up, she becomes 30 years old in 2004, living in New York and working her dream job with her best friend Lucy, played by Judy Greer. Ruffalo played the role of her childhood best friend, Matty Flamhaff, who also became her love interest.
The film became a commercial success and one of that year’s biggest-selling DVDs. The film’s soundtrack ranked in the top 50 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Garner and Ruffalo also reunited in 2022 for the film The Adam Project. In February, Ruffalo received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Garner was also present there.
