Angry Bird 3 is Happening, Josh Gad and Jason Sudeikis Will Return
Angry Birds franchise fans are excited for the latest update that the third installment of the movie is happening, and Josh Gad and Jason Sudeikis are returning to voice their respective characters. The film tells of the feud between Fightless Birds and Pigs on the island.
Sudeikis and Gad voiced the two main characters in the film, Red and Chuck. As per the deadline, the third movie is being worked on by Rovio Entertainment Corporation and Prime Focus Studio with the partnership of DNEG Animation Studio.
The third movie will be directed by John Rice, who co-directed The Angry Birds Movie 2. He served as the director of the films The Simpsons Movie and Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe. Thurop Van Orman, who directed the second installment of Angry Bird, penned the script. He will also executive produce the film along with Toru Nakahara.
Prime Focus Studio, Rovio and Sega will produce the film along with John Cohen, Carla Connor, and Dan Chuba. Shuji Utsumi, the president and COO of Sega, expressed his excitement for the upcoming movie.
He said, “We are thrilled to announce that the brand-new film of the globally beloved and successful Angry Birds franchise is to be in production.”
He also added, “We believe that the upcoming The Angry Birds Movie 3 perfectly aligns with our strategy and presents a great opportunity for us to bring the charm of the Angry Birds brand to fans across the globe.”
DNEG Managing Director Crosby Clyse said, “Our amazing DNEG Animation team is thrilled to be teaming up once again with Prime Focus Studios and with our new friends at Rovio to create an all-new high-velocity adventure set in this colourful, crazy world.”
The plot details regarding Angry Bird 3 are currently unknown, but it will resume the adventures of Red and Chuck. No other voice actors are added to the film. The previous movie was filled with a talented cast, including Danny McBride, Kate McKinnon, Maya Rudolph, Sean Penn, and more. The release date is also yet to be announced.
Jason Sudeikis played the titular character of the comedy series Ted Lasso, in which his performance won Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. He also voiced the animated films Epic and Next Gen, and he lastly appeared in the movie Fool’s Paradise, directed by Charlie Day.
Josh Gad is best known for voicing the character Olaf in the Frozen franchise. He also played an important role in Disney’s live adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. His upcoming projects include A Tree Fell in the Woods, Adulthood, and Shrunk.
