Beyoncé’s Halloween Homages Hint at Rock Album in the Works

Pop superstar Beyoncé has been keeping her fans on their toes this Halloween, unveiling not one but two stylish tributes to iconic rock and funk musicians, and the costume choices are fueling speculation about the final act of her ambitious musical trilogy.

First, Beyoncé channeled the legendary funk diva Betty Davis, sharing a series of Instagram photos showcasing her recreation of Davis’ bold, androgynous style. Rocking a monochrome printed bodysuit, white boots, and a voluminous afro, Beyoncé paid homage to the pioneering artist, captioning the post: “Betty Davis in my bones.”

“The ‘Cowboy Carter’ creator shared a post to her Instagram early Friday morning, posing as the funk-rock diva for Halloween. In the photos, Beyoncé rocks a black and white-printed bodysuit, white ankle boots, and red lipstick with her hair in a luscious afro,” our reporter noted.

But Beyoncé’s Halloween homages didn’t stop there. In a second set of photos, the 43-year-old star transformed herself into both Prince and his co-star Apollonia Kotero from the iconic 1984 film “Purple Rain.”

The report continued, “Beyoncé, sporting a perfectly coiffed wig, donned Prince’s iconic purple coat and boots from the movie, holding a matching guitar in some of the other photos.” In other photos, the ‘Crazy in Love’ musician channeled Apollonia by wearing a black blazer and bodysuit, and even went topless for a single shot.

The choice of these particular rock and funk icons has led many fans to speculate that Beyoncé may be hinting at the direction of her upcoming third album, which would complete her planned musical trilogy that began with 2022’s “Renaissance” and this year’s “Cowboy Carter.”

One fan commented, “Cmon act iii,” while another added, “Oh, you’re clowning this year!” I see what ACT III is!” Indeed, Beyoncé has made it clear that she intended “Cowboy Carter” to be the second act of a three-part series, with the final installment still to come.

“I focused on this album as a continuation of RENAISSANCE,” the singer wrote in a March Instagram post. “I hope this music is an experience, creating another journey where you can close your eyes, start from the beginning, and never stop.”

With the singer’s latest Halloween homages hinting at a potential rock or funk influence for the third act, fans are eagerly anticipating what Beyoncé has in store to complete her ambitious musical triptych.

“Never beating the Act III Rock Allegations,” one fan wrote, reflecting the growing excitement and speculation around Beyoncé’s next move. Beyoncé has once again demonstrated her ability to surprise and captivate her audience, leaving them eagerly anticipating the final chapter of this genre-blending journey.
