Bruce Springsteen Postpones Concerts in Europe Due to Vocal Issues
Singer Bruce Springsteen and his music band, E Street, postponed upcoming concerts in Europe due to vocal issues. The doctors suggested the musician rest his voice for ten days.
Springsteen first postponed his show in Marseille, which was scheduled to be performed on May 25. The cancellation was announced a few hours before it was set to start. He informed his fans of the news on his Instagram account.
He wrote, “Due to vocal issues and under doctor’s direction, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s concert this evening at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille, France has been postponed to a later date.”
The following day, they released another statement on his social media. They wrote, “Following yesterday’s postponement in Marseille due to vocal issues, further examination and consulting has led doctors to determine that Bruce should not perform for the next ten days.”
The note also added that the shows at Airport Letnany in Prague and San Siro Stadium in Milan, which were scheduled for May 28 and June 1 and 3, respectively, have also been postponed.
They also stated, “New dates for these shows will be announced shortly.” It was further said that those who wanted a refund would be able to get it at their original purchase point.
The statement additionally said that the musician was “recuperating comfortably,” and they are looking forward to resuming their tour on June 12 at the Civitas Metropolitan in Madrid.
Springsteen and his band started their 2024 European tour on May 5 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and are expected to conclude on July 27 at Wembley Stadium in London.
This is not the first time he has postponed his tour. Last year, in September, he postponed several tour dates due to peptic ulcer disease. He revealed the news in a social media post, in which he stated he was currently under treatment for the symptoms of peptic ulcer disease. He also added that they were postponing the remaining shows in September according to the decision of his medical advisors.
A few weeks later, he shared another post, which stated that they were rescheduling their remaining shows in 2023, including the postponed shows, to 2024.
The note said, “Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice.”
Springsteen expressed his gratitude to his friends and fans for their wishes and support. He said, “I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”
Springsteen and his band’s tour is currently scheduled to end in November and cover the United States, Canada, and Europe.
