Celine Dion Breaks Down in Tears Over Her Health Battle in the Documentary Trailer of ‘I Am’
Celine Dion gets emotional in the documentary trailer ‘I Am’, while talking about her stiff person syndrome battle. The first trailer for her documentary dropped on Thursday.
She said in that video, “My voice is the conductor of my life. When your voice brings you joy, you’re the best of yourself. I need my instrument.”
The trailer shows the archivals and behind-the-scenes of her career. The trailer also features a recent interview in which the singer discusses her health issues. Dion shares the details about her diagnosis in an emotional way.
She said, “I wasn’t ready to say anything before, but I’m ready now.” The trailer shows some of the footage from her therapy sessions as well as some of her old, powerful performances on stage.
She says in the footage, “It’s not hard to do a show.”. At that point, the video shows footage of her taking the medicine and her rehearsal. Then she continues, “It’s hard to cancel a show.”
She admitted, “I’m working hard. I have to admit, it’s been a struggle. I miss it so much”
Dion adds in the trailer, “I miss it so much. The people—I miss them. If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl.” She concluded the trailer by stating, “I won’t stop.”
Dion revealed that she had been diagnosed with the neurological disease in December 2022, and that forced her to cancel her 2023 Courage Tour dates. She shared a video on her Instagram account to explain her condition.
She captioned, “I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything I’ve been going through.”
She said on that video that she had been diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, which was a neurological disorder, and continued, “While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having.”
Celin Dion, known as ‘Queen of Power Ballads’, is a five-time Grammy Award winner. She is best known for her songs “My Heart Will Go On” on Titanic and “Beauty and the Beast.” After dealing with her health issues, she made her first major public appearance at the 2024 Grammys.
