Chloe Fineman Calls Out Musk’s Alleged Behavior
It all started when “SNL” cast member Chloe Fineman took to TikTok to call out Elon Musk for his reported treatment of her during his hosting stint on the show in 2021. In a since-deleted video, **Fineman alleged that Musk made her “burst into tears” when she presented him with a sketch she had “stayed up all night writing.”
According to Fineman, when she asked Musk if he had any questions about the sketch, “he stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla and were like, ‘It’s not funny.'” She stated that she “expected you to be like, ‘Haha, JK.'” However, this did not happen.
Then, you began to peruse my script, flipping through each page, and declaring, “I did not laugh once.” Not one time.'” Fineman said the sketch she wrote ultimately made it into the show, and she thought Musk was “really funny” in it. However, she reprimanded him, stating, “Show some manners, sir!”
Musk responds and defends his reaction.
Now, Elon Musk has responded to Fineman’s allegations. In a tweet, he wrote, “Frankly, it was only on Thursday before Saturday that any of the sketches generated laughs. I was worried. I was like, “Damn, my SNL appearance is going to be so freaking unfunny that it will make a crackhead sober!” However, in the end, everything turned out as planned [exhale emoji].
So while Musk didn’t directly confirm or deny making Fineman cry, he defended his initial reaction to the sketches, saying he was concerned that none of them were landing until just a couple days before the show. He seems to suggest that the final product ended up working out well, despite his earlier reservations.
Musk’s criticism of SNL served as the inspiration for Fineman’s TikTok.
Fineman said that Musk’s recent criticism of “SNL” on social media sparked her decision to speak out. After Musk slammed the show’s recent cold open featuring Dana Carvey’s impression of him, Fineman decided it was time to speak up.
“I saw a news article about Elon Musk being upset about SNL and his impression, but I was like, ‘You’re clearly watching the show!'” Fineman stated in her TikTok. Fineman said so in her TikTok. Fineman said so in her TikTok. “Like, what are you talking about?”
She also referenced previous comments from her co-star Bowen Yang, who revealed that an unnamed host had made “multiple” people on the show cry “before the table read because he hated the ideas.” Fineman suggested that Musk was the host Yang was referring to, stating, “He’s the host who made someone cry. Maybe there’s others.”
A History of Musk’s Criticism of SNL
This is just the latest installment in Musk’s ongoing feud with Saturday Night Live. The Tesla CEO has frequently criticized the show on social media, saying it “has become so woke” and that it “has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality.” After his appearance on the show in 2021, Musk also complained about Dana Carvey’s perception of him, saying, “Dana Carvey just sounds like Dana Carvey.”
Despite Musk’s ultimate satisfaction with his hosting gig, it’s evident that his relationship with the long-running sketch comedy show remains strained. And with Chloe Fineman now publicly accusing him of unprofessional behavior behind the scenes, this feud doesn’t seem to be cooling off anytime soon.
