General Hospital Pays Tribute to Actor Johnny Wactor in Latest Episode

General Hospital pays tribute to the late actor Johnny Wactor, who was shot and killed on May 25. On June 11, the soap opera on ABC concluded the episode with a title card, which showcased the image of Wactor to honor him.

He played the character of Brado Corbin in the show between 2020 and 2022. The General Hospital team previously paid tribute to the actor following the news of the news of his death.

They released an official statement on their social media account on May 26, which wrote, “The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Johnny Wactor’s untimely passing,” and continued, “He was truly one of a kind and a pleasure to work with each and every day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.”

Wactor was killed at the age of 37 when three thieves attempted to steal a catalyptic converter from his car. His coworker, who was with him at the time, narrated the incident in a lengthy Instagram post.

She explained that she and the actor left after work in downtown Los Angeles Saturday morning, and they encountered three men who were trying to steal a car part from his vehicle.

She said that they approached them and queried their act, and before asking them to leave, Wactor was shot. In her caption, she remembered Wactor by stating, “His energy was magnetic and pulled you in so effortlessly – you were safe with him,” and continued, “He treated everyone with love, respect, compassion and he really “saw” you.”

After being shot by the theft, he subsequently shifted to the hospital, and he pronounced his death there. His mother, Scarlett, confirmed his death one day after the incident. She added that “his death leaves a huge hole in the family’s heart.”

In his autopsy report, determined by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, it was pointed out that he died by homicide, and his cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the chest.

Wactor’s brother told People, “He was a good person. He was taken way too early, and no one should be taken like this at all.”

Many of his co-stars in General Hospital paid tribute to Wactor after learning of his demise, including Laura Wright, Nancy Lee Grahn, Bonnie Burroughs, and more.

Sofia Mattsson, who played the character of his wife in the show, wrote on Instagram, “My heart is so utterly broken,” and continued, “Johnny was the absolute best. So genuine. So caring. Incredibly hard working and humble.”
