Halsey Reveals Details About Secret Health Battle, Says She’s ‘Lucky to Be Alive’

Singer Halsey shared painful details about her ongoing health struggles. On Tuesday, she shared a series of videos on her Instagram account and captioned, “Long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive. Short story long, i wrote an album.”

She opened up about her health battle ahead of the release of her new single, ‘The End’. She mentions her latest album in the post by writing, “It begins with The End. out now.”  However, Halsey did not specify the name of the disease, but she tagged the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

The first video in the post shows the singer rubbing her leg and saying, “I feel like an old lady. I told myself, I’m giving myself two more years to be sick.”

She further continued, “By 30, I’m having a rebirth, and I’m not gonna be sick, and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy, and I’m just gonna re-do my 20s in my 30s.”

In the next slide, Hailey was seen sitting in a chair while wearing a mask in the hospital, and she said, looking at the camera, “Today is day one of treatment.” In the subsequent video show, she was working on her new album in the studio, and the last video shows some glimpses of her treatments.

Many of her friends and fans wished her well-being during the singer’s health struggles. Halsey’s boyfriend, Avan Joagi, who confirmed their relationship in October,  wrote in the comment section, “I love you and am so proud of you.”

The following day, Halsey shared another post and thanked everyone for supporting her new song, “Thank you guys for the unbelievable amount of love for “The End” and the support you’ve shown me since its release.”

She also shared a few more details about her health issues. She wrote, “In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder, and continued, “Both of which are currently being managed or in remission.”

She also added that with the help of the doctors, everything was under her control and said, “After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to.”

Halsey has previously talked about her health struggles many times. In 2016, she said that she suffered from bipolar disorder, and in 2022, she was diagnosed with Elhers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
