Isla Fisher Breaks Her Silence After the Divorce Announcement with Longtime Husband Sacha Baron Cohen

Isla Fisher broke her silence after announcing her divorce from her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen, by expressing her gratitude to the fans who supported her during that time.

The actress took her Instagram and shared a photo of herself on the Instagram story on May 14, with the caption, “Thank you for all your kindness and support.”

In that photo, she sits in a chair surrounded by greenery and smiles at the camera. A wine glass was placed in front of her.

It is the first time Fisher has spoken publicly since their divorce news came out last month. Fisher and Cohen announced their separation on April 5. They posted a joint message on their Instagram stories with a photo of themselves posing in a tennis outfit. They wrote, “After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down.”

The post continued that they filed for divorce jointly to end their marriage. They also added that they prioritized their privacy and worked through that change. They requested their fans to respect their privacy.

Fisher and Cohen first met in 2001 at a party in Sydney. In an interview with The New York Times in 2020, Cohen recalled the moment by stating, “She was hilarious. We were at a very pretentious party, and me and her bonded over taking the mick out of the other people in the party.”

After a few years of dating, the couple got engaged in 2004. In October 2007, they welcomed their first daughter, Olive. After that, in 2010, they tied the knot in Paris. In a conversation with The New York Times, Cohen revealed how they keep their wedding private. He said, “We had a secret wedding in Paris.”

They welcomed their second daughter, Elula, in 2010 and third son, Montgomery, in 2015. They always kept their personal lives private by keeping their children out of the spotlight.

Fisher and Cohen acted in a movie together for the first time in 2016, The Brothers Grimsby, along with Rebel Wilson, Gabourey Sidibe, and Penélope Cruz.

Isla Fisher has worked with numerous films, including Scooby-Doo, Now You See Me, and Wedding Crashers. She recently appeared in the series Wolf Like Me and the film Strays. Her upcoming project is The Present. She is also part of the untitled film directed by Noah Baumbach.

Cohen will be part of the upcoming mini-series Ironheart created by Chinaka Hodge.
