Jennifer Lopez Had the Sweetest Response to Ben Affleck’s ‘Unstoppable’ Compliment

Earlier this week, Ben Affleck praised his ex, Jennifer Lopez, for her performance in the upcoming movie Unstoppable—and now Lopez is responding to the kind words with some of her own. According to E! News, Lopez showered the team with support and compliments.

When asked about her performance, Affleck said that Lopez was “spectacular” as Judy Robles, the mother of a boxer named Anthony. Affleck and his friend Matt Damon produced the film, which is based on Anthony Robles’ book. Affleck and his friend Matt Damon plan to release the film in theaters on December 6, followed by its streaming debut on Prime Video on January 16.

“Jennifer’s spectacular,” Affleck told Entertainment Tonight. “We believed in the right people, and Unstoppable is another example of that.” In a video from the Unstoppable U.K. premiere on November 5, Jennifer said, “I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes.” “As spectacular and wonderful.”

The film’s director, William Goldenberg, spoke about how amicable everything was between Lopez and Affleck. He explained that as seasoned professionals, they’re not going to bring personal matters into the promotion of the new movie.

“It’s always been about the movie, and that’s their personal business,” Goldenberg said in September, when the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. “We just kept talking about the movie. We simply focused on the main objective.

The couple, who married in 2022 and filed for divorce in August, remains dedicated to their craft despite their differences. And the film’s director said he witnessed it firsthand. “It’s always been about the movie, and that’s their personal business,” William told E! News in September. “We just kept talking about the movie. We simply focused on the main objective.

Although Ben, 52, has yet to speak out about the divorce, Jennifer, 55, recently reflected on her life since their split. “You have to be complete if you want something that’s more complete,” she said in an interview with Interview magazine last month. “You have to be successful on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t.

Then this summer, I had to say, “I need to spend time alone.” I want to prove to myself that I can do that.'” For the “On The Floor” singer—who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony—the major life change forced her to confront some uncomfortable emotions.

“It feels lonely, unfamiliar, and scary,” she admitted. “It feels sad. It feels desperate. But when you sit in those feelings and go, ‘These things are not going to kill me,’ it’s like, actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself.” And while Jennifer navigates life as a single woman, she’s tuning out the outside noise and focusing on herself. “I know I’m a good person,” she explained.

“I know I’m a wonderful mom. I know who my friends are. I am confident that my friends, including my mom and dad, are aware of who I am. If you want a long career, you must master that part of the business. Some people may love you, some may not understand you, and some may simply wish to hate you, but none of this really matters.
