Kevin Spacey Says His House is Being Auctioned Due to Legal Bill Debt

Kevin Spacey opened up about his financial struggles, revealing that he is facing millions of dollars in debt due to legal fees. The actor, who was facing the MeToo allegation, broke down in tears and disclosed his house was sold in an auction.

On Tuesday, Spacey appeared on Piers Morgan’s show ‘Uncensored’ and discussed his ongoing legal battle. During the conversation, Morgan asked the actor, “Where do you live now?”

For that question, Spacey was seen being emotional and replied, “Well, it’s funny you ask that question because this week, where I have been living in Baltimore is being foreclosed on.”

He revealed that his house was “being sold at auction” and continued, “So the answer to that question is, I’m not sure where I am going to live now. But I’ve been in Baltimore since we started shooting ‘House of Cards‘ there.”

Spacey further added that he moved to Baltimore in 2012, and he has been living in that house since 2016.

When Morgan asked him about why he took the decision to sell his home, he simply replied, “Because I can’t pay the bills that I owe.”

When asked if he was “facing bankruptcy,” Spacey responded that he had considered filing for bankruptcy a few times but “managed to dodge it.”

Morgan further asked the Golden Globe Award winner how much money he had now, and Spacey replied, “None.” He also admitted that he “still owes a lot of legal bills” and has “not been able to pay.” According to him, he owes many millions.

The first allegation of sexual misconduct against Spacey came in 2017, and since then, there have been many accusations filed against him. He was accused of assaulting four men between 2001 and 2013, but he was found not guilty in 2023 of nine counts in London’s Southwark Crown Court.

When the allegations were first made against him, Spacey said, “I lost my reputation, I lost everything in a matter of days.”

Actor Anthony Rapp filed a lawsuit against Spacey in 2022 for molesting him in 1986, when Spacey was 26 and Rapp was 14. However, the jury found Spacey not liable for the lawsuit because they concluded he did not molest Rapp.

Several other lawsuits were filed against Spacey, but he denied all the allegations. A recent documentary titled Spacey Unmasked, which was streaming on Max, revealed more sexual allegations against him.
