Knives Out 3 Cast List: Here is Who’s Joining Daniel Craig in ‘Wake Up Dead Man’
In Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third installment of the Knives Out franchise, Daniel Craig reprises his role as detective Benoit Blanc. The director, Rian Johnson, announced Craig’s return through a video posted on his social media account.
The first movie in the franchise, ‘Knives Out, was released in 2019, in which Blanc investigated the murder mystery of novelist Harlan Thrombey. Its sequel released in 2022, titled ‘Glass Onion’, which shows Blanc and a group of people travel to the private island of billionaire Miles Bron to solve a murder mystery game.
Rian Jonson will write the script and direct the movie. He will also produce the film along with Ram Bergman. The filming is expected to start soon and is scheduled to be released on Netflix next year.
The casting details are revealed after the announcement of the third installment. Here is the announced cast list of Knives Out 3.
Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc
Daniel Crag’s Benoic Blanc is the protagonist in the Knives Out franchise. Blanc is a detective who solves murder mysteries in the previous two films, but not much information is given about his background.
In an interview with W in 2023, he expected that his character would be mysterious future installement of the films. He said, “Even though we’ve now seen a bit of his home life, I do hope that Benoit remains something of a mystery,”
Josh O’Connor
Josh O’Connor joins Knives Out 3 after his performance in the film ‘Challengers’. However, his character details in the film are currently unknown. He got worldwide recognition for playing the role of Charles in Netflix’s The Crown, and he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his performance. His upcoming film is The History of Sound, directed by Oliver Hermanus.
Cailee Spaeny
Cailee Spaeny is the next star to join the franchise. Spaeny recently appeared as the titular character in the biopic Priscilla and also starred in the political thriller Civil War.
Andrew Scott
Andrew Scott came to fame for his role in the BBC series Sherlock. His character in All of Us Strangers got a nomination for the Golden Globe. He recently acted in the series Ripley, and his upcoming film is Back in Action.
Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington is also added to the cast list of Wake Up Dead Man for an unknown role. She is famous for her character in the series Scandal, and she last appeared in the series Unprisoned.
Glenn Close
The three-time Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner also joined Knives Out 3. Her recent films include Cruella and Heart of Stone.
Jeremy Renner
Knives Out 3 is the first feature project after his snowplow accident in 2023. He lastly starred in the lead role in Mayor of the Kingstown.
Mila Kunis
The recent addition to the film is Mila Kunis. Bad Mom’s star recently produced and starred in Netflix’s film Luckiest Girl Alive.
