In a surprising collaboration that no one saw coming, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and acclaimed rapper T-Pain have joined forces to create a cover of Lil’ Jon’s iconic 2002 hit “Get Low.” The duo, who have developed a friendship over the past few years, have dubbed their unique take on the song “Z-Pain.”
Zuckerberg revealed the unexpected duet in a heartfelt Instagram post, explaining that “Get Low” was playing when he first met his wife, Priscilla, at a college party. “Every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary,” he wrote. “This year I worked with @tpain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece.”
The tech mogul’s autotuned vocals take on the song’s raunchy lyrics, with Zuckerberg crooning lines like, “‘Till the sweat drop down my balls.” T-Pain also makes a cameo appearance on the track, adding his signature vocal stylings to the collaboration. “Z-Pain has arrived. T-Pain excitedly shared Get Low by @zuck and me on his own Instagram page.
Zuckerberg and T-Pain’s unlikely friendship began a few years ago when the rapper invited the Facebook founder to join him on various livestreams. This past July, T-Pain even gifted Zuckerberg a Nappy Boy Meta chain, writing, “Looks fantastic on you, buddy. Thanks for being a wonderful friend.”
While some fans have expressed shock and confusion over the collaboration, Priscilla Chan seemed to embrace the gesture, commenting, “Can’t get quite as low anymore but more in love and grateful for that love than ever. Love you, MZ.”
The duo’s acoustic take on “Get Low” is now available on Spotify, providing a more PG-rated version of the notoriously raunchy hit. It’s unclear if this signals the start of a new musical collaboration between Zuckerberg and T-Pain, but one thing is certain: this collaboration is sure to spark conversation.
