Mike Tyson Suffers Medical Emergy During Flight to Los Angeles
The former heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, suffered a medical emergency on his flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday. During his flight, he felt nauseated and dizzy, and the paramedic team rushed to help him.
Tyson’s representative responded to the incident by saying, “Thankfully, Mr. Tyson is doing great,” and continuing, “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing.” He also added, “He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
In Touch broke the news first. According to their report, Tyson became ill on a flight to Los Angeles before landing for 30 minutes. The passengers got a message asking if there were any medical professionals on the flight. After arriving at the Los Angeles airport, the paramedical team gave the athlete medical support.
As per some reports, Tyson’s medical assistance delayed the process of deboarding. A source told In Touch, “He was in first class, but we were in an exit row, and the stewardess was very chatty. They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter.”
Some others claimed that Tyson was the reason for delaying the takeoff of the flight for two hours. But his representative stated that it was incorrect. He said, “It’s false reporting that his medical attention caused the flight delay.” He added that it was because of the “air conditioning issue on the aircraft.”
The latest incident occurred two months before his face-off with Jake Paul. On July 20, Tyson will step back into the ring for a live-streamed fight with 27-year-old boxer Jake on Netflix. However, the 30-year age gap between the fighters generated criticism among the fans and on social media.
During a press conference this month, Tyson told ET that he didn’t feel Paul was a “formidable opponent.” On May 25, Tyson shared a poster of the match with the caption, “Can’t wait for Jake’s wake,” to which Paul responded, “Titanium > Iron.”
Earlier this month, Paul also posted a video of them and wrote, “Titanium Jake will sleep Iron Mike. The fun has begun.”
Tyson held the title of world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. He retired in 2005 after losing to Kevin McBridge. Tyson last fought in a 2020 exhibition against Roy Jones Jr.
Along with his boxing career, he became a controversial figure. In 1992, a jury found him guilty of rape and sentenced him to six years in prison. He made headlines in 1997 by biting off Evander Holyfield’s ear during a fight.
