Nina Dobrev Shares Details About Her Recent Dirt Bike Accident Injuries; Says ‘My Knee Just Snapped’

Nina Dobrev shared details about her dirt bike accident that happened last month, which led her to undergo surgery due to several injuries. On Wednesday, during an episode of CBS’ The Talk, she gave an update about her recovery.

She said, “I had knee surgery; I got a giant brace. I can’t really walk on my own yet… I had a fractured knee as well as ACL repair and meniscus.”

When she asked the question about how she got the injury, Dobrev gave some details about her accident by stating, “I was dirt biking for the first time, and it did not go well,” and she also gave advice to the viewers, saying, “I don’t recommend it, guys. It’s OK, I learned a lesson, don’t ever get on a dirt bike.”

Dobrev recalled the incident and said, “I was in a wheely, lost control, whisky throttled, bike flew, luckily it didn’t fall on me, which is what the doctor said would have been a lot worse.”

She further went on to describe her injury, saying, “When I landed, I landed on one leg, straight, and my knee just like snapped.”

She continued that, because of that injury, she underwent knee surgery and isn’t able to walk herself yet. She further added that she had “a fractured knee as well as ACL repair and meniscus.”

Dobrev shared her happiness with the hosts that it was her first time “leaving the house over two months” to appear on the show and shared her recovery process, stating, “Cuddle puddle is my life these days, it’s just the puppies, and at home watching movies, physical therapy, eat, sleep, or pee is kind of the schedule.”

She said that she was currently watching the series Fargo and was obsessed with the show, and teasingly said, “I called my agents. I love it, so I’m so obsessed with the show, and I was like, ‘You have to get me on this show.’ And they’re like,’ That’s from a decade ago, you’re too late.'”

Dobrev first revealed her accident on May 20 through a post on her Instagram account. She posted two photos: the first one was of her standing next to a bicycle, and the next one was of her on a hospital bed with injuries, and she captioned it, “how it started vs how it’s going.”

She always gave updates to her fans about her recovery journey through social media. Her upcoming project is the comedy thriller movie Reunion, directed by Chris Nelson, which is scheduled to release on June 28, 2024, on Paramount+.
