Nina Dobrev Shares Health Update After Surgery Following the e-Bike Accident
Nina Dobrev shared her recent health status after her surgery following an e-bike accident in May last week. On Wednesday, she shared two photos on her Instagram, in which the first one showcases that she was lying in the operating room and giving a thumbs up to the camera, and the second one is her selfie with a dull face.
She wrote in the caption that “surgery was a success” and thanked everyone for their “kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and good vibes.” She continued, “I have been feeling the support and positive energy. It means more than you will ever know.”
Dobrev didn’t disclose further details regarding her bike accident or her operation.
Many of her friends and followers show their support and prayers for the actress. Her boyfriend, Shaun White, wrote in the comment section, “WE ALL LOVE YOU.”
Before heading to the surgery, Dobrev posted an Instagram story about her nervousness about surgery. In the first story, she posted her selfie and wrote, “Anyone else get scared before surgery? I’m such a baby when it comes to needles, blood, or procedures of any kind.”
In the second story shown, she was in the hospital bed and showed her injured leg out of the blanket. She captioned, “Had to get one last photo of my leg—pristine—before it’s all scarred up.”
The final story was a video that showed her writing “yes” to her leg, which needs an operation. She wrote in that story humorously, “Fun fact: they make you draw on whatever extremity is being operated on to confirm that is the correct limb.”
Dobrev first shared the details of her accident on May 20. She posted two photos on her Instagram account; the first one showed her posing with a motorcycle while riding, and the second one showed her in a hospital bed with injuries. Dobrev captioned it, “How it started vs how it’s going.”
After that, in a follow-up Instagram story post, the actress said, “I’m OK but it’s going to be a long road of recovery ahead.” She also posted a series of snaps of her recovery journey on social media, one of which showed Shaul White cheering her up through his dance moves.
He was seen dancing while wearing a white The Vampire Diaries sweater embroidered with her character’s name, Elena Gilbert.
Dobrev’s upcoming movie Reunion, directed by Chris Nelson, will be released in theaters on June 28, where she will star along with Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell, and Billy Magnussen.
