As a rising star in the country music scene, Riley Green has quickly made a name for himself with his unique blend of traditional and modern country sounds. His latest album, “Don’t Mind If I Do,” features his latest single “Damn Good Day to Leave” as well as a collaboration with none other than country superstar Luke Bryan called “Reel Problems,” a tongue-in-cheek song about the challenges of fishing.
We had a conversation with Riley to understand the origins of this unexpected partnership. “That was one of the first things we did together—go fishing at his lake down south of Nashville,” Riley told us. “And we had a wonderful time. I mean, he’s such an enjoyable dude to hang out with. You know, his upbringing in Georgia was similar to mine, so we instantly clicked.
Riley added, “And probably that fishin’ trip is why he was the first person I sent this song to when I wrote it, knowing’ his passion for that and also the type of music that he likes and touring with him. Those relationships are how these things happen. It always occurs naturally and simply through friendship.
It’s clear that Riley and Luke’s shared love of country living and fishing played a big role in bringing “real problems” to life. And the country music community is certainly noticing Riley’s rising star power.
Just recently, Riley announced that he’ll be launching his “Damn Country Music Tour” in 2025, which will run from March 27 through August 23 across the U.S. and Canada in support of “Don’t Mind If I Do.”
“So, next year, I will embark on the ‘Damn Country Music Tour.'” Ella Langley will be joining us on the ‘Damn Country Music Tour’ next year. We have two songs together, one of which is a huge hit, and the other is the title track of my album. It seems fitting to have her back on the tour with me, and I was thrilled to have her on board. Riley also mentioned Drake White, a close friend from my hometown.
He’s clearly thrilled about the opportunity to hit the road with some of his closest friends and musical collaborators. “I love that we’re going to have two Alabama artists on tour with me already. And I’m going to bring out a lot of guys and girls that I’m a big fan of, people that I enjoy being around, and writers that I like writing with, in an effort to make this tour happen.”
And for Riley, this tour is about more than just putting on a great show—it’s a reflection of his overall approach to his career. “As much as ‘My Last Rodeo Tour’ was a huge step for me, I want to make this one even bigger and also want to make it something that I really enjoy doing because I’m getting to a place now where, you know, I’m not living a life and then going on tours. This is my life, you know? And I want to try to enjoy it and hopefully make this something that I’ll do for the rest of my life.”
With his authentic country roots, collaborations with big-name artists, and a genuine passion for connecting with his fans, it’s clear that Riley Green is poised to continue his meteoric rise in the country music world. Watch out for Riley Green’s “Damn Country Music Tour” next year, an event that any true country music fan should not miss.
